Portrait of LW MillerIn 1965, Larry Miller started life in the trucking business as a partner in Miller’s Transport, a subsidiary of Tri Miller Packing Company. When Thorn Apple Valley purchased Tri Miller Packing in 1982 Larry established L.W. Miller Transportation, Inc. Today he is a successful businessman with a variety of interests both business and personal. He is the driving force behind the success of the organization and the visionary that continues to set the company’s course to growth and financial success. He seeks out opportunity rather than wait for it to present itself. He has carefully assembled a staff of successful professionals to oversee his various holdings and gives them the responsibility, authority and support to accomplish their objectives. The result is a highly efficient and profitable company that in 2003 was ranked number 53 of the top 100 privately owned companies in the state of Utah.

He is a life long resident of Cache Valley and actively involved in community affairs. His philosophy of giving back to the community has contributed to his success. He is a past President of the Cache County Chamber of Commerce and was chosen as the recipient of the 1994 Small Business Association’s Entrepreneurial Success Award for the State of Utah. Currently, he is a member of the Logan Rotary Club and a Board member of the Chamber of Commerce, American West Heritage Society and Sunshine Terrace. He is a member of the Old Main Society and Big Blue Club at Utah State University and served for two years as the President of the Utah Motor Transport Association.
His roots are in agriculture and rural life. He is actively engaged in farming with a 2,500-acre dry farm operation in Box Elder County and a livestock brokerage firm in Logan, Utah.
